UE5 Devlog - Fixing My Weapon Swap System (and Breaking My Animation System)

This week I worked on my Unreal Engine project — fixing a weapon-swap sequence bug, improving my permission system, and starting a new spline-based cover system in C++. I talk through: - How my character uses manager vs system components - Why my Master Action Handler was blocking part of a multi-step animation - Debugging the weapon-swap sequence - Starting a new cover system (and why I chose splines over line traces) - Using root-motion montages for snapping into cover - Realising my animation montage component was too tightly coupled to my equipment system - Why I now need to refactor both systems Next week: decoupling the animation/equipment systems and (hopefully) getting the first cover transition montage working.
