What is a Point Cloud?

A point cloud is the raw 3D scan, which is then filtered and processed. A point cloud is created by a 3D scanner. I will explain the software for point clouds and go over the different file formats. Read the accompanying blog post: A 3D scanner generates a point cloud. Each point in the point cloud is a measurement point that the 3D scanner has detected on the object’s surface. Each point has an XYZ value that determines its position in the coordinate system. Holocreators offers 3D scanning services, 3D scan-to-CAD conversion services (STL to STEP), 3D modeling services, and CAD design services.
