The Longhorn V2 Data Engine can now perform fast rebuilding of replicas, ensuring data consistency in node failure scenarios. When a node fails, Longhorn restarts the corresponding Instance Manager pod and starts fast rebuilding of the replica that resides on that node. Longhorn performs the rebuilding using snapshot data and metadata, including the snapshot checksum that is necessary for verifying the rebuilt replica against healthy replicas.
