Ever since the Tales from the Pizzaplex books started coming out, there's been a lot of debate over whether or not Burntrap and Glitchtrap are actually William Afton, or just the Mimic pretending to be him. This has especially been the case since, after Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach came out, we got the Ruin DLC and Secret of the Mimic focused on the Mimic as the main villain, and an interview with franchise creator, Scott Cawthon, where he said that he didn't originally communicate the story to Steel Wool Studios, just the pieces of the puzzle, leading to a lot of people believing that Burntrap either isn't canon or was retconned into being the Mimic. However, there are a few reasons I personally think that Burntrap is still around, and that he and Glitchtrap either aren't the Mimic at all or only have small elements of it respectively, and I have the evidence to back it up.
