Perseverance has spent 45 months exploring Mars – and this chapter gets weird. Between Sols 1302–1331, the rover battles its way up the slippery rim of Jezero crater, listens to the haunting Martian wind, and stumbles upon something rare: bone-coloured, quartz-rich rocks that don’t seem to belong there at all. In this episode, follow Perseverance from Curtis Ridge to Eagle Cliff and the towering outcrop Pico Turquino, as the rover investigates “Observation Rock”, visits the spooky “Mist Park” just in time for Halloween, and struggles with wheel stalls on steep, sandy slopes. We’ll see fresh abrasion patches, strange scattered white rocks, and learn what they reveal about the violent impact that formed Jezero billions of years ago. All visuals are from real rover images, with real sound recorded on Mars. Stick around to the end for a look ahead, as Perseverance prepares to reach the very edge of the crater rim – and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe to support more ElderFox space adventures.
