I tried a lot of different games ideas while trying to make a 2D Android game in Unity game engine, from the arcade shooter to the League of Legends in 2D as an Android game. When I was about to give up I got inspired by Hollow Knight and came with an idea about a tower builder game combined with a platformer. So after working for the entire day, I ended up with this - The Hollow Tower. A simple 2D game made with Unity, where you can unlock up to 3 different playable shapes and 6 achievements. Jump all around the screen no matter the screen size of a device, cut the rope, and build the biggest tower you can. I implemented Ads to make money from the game, and actually used Unity's new input system which made implementing touch controls - virtual joystick and UI button for the game really easy. Since I had only one day to make the game, I didn't have time to make 2d lighting in unity nor better game assets, only time for Ads... That is how the mobile game market works, it's all about how much money you can make. Since I saw Dani, Sam Hogan, and other YouTubers make insane money from android games with unity Ads, I decided to give it a shot. Maybe you can even learn a thing or two, but probably not, since not much of scripting is shown and it's not really a how-to make a game in unity type of a video. You can download the game on Playstore (no Apple store, because you need Mac to build a game from unity to iOs) and try it yourself. And you should. And you will. Because I need that AD money, otherwise it will be the last game I ever make with all my fingers on my hands. ● About Digging deep, huh? I am an indie game developer and self-taught(don't know much) programmer and artist. I make videos about games I make in Unity's game engine, drawing game assets, and everything related to games in general. If you are an epic gamer yourself you should join my journey and be a part of it! #gamedev #unity #giedzilla #makegames #unity2d #masinga
