Two Dogs. Two Breeds. Two Speeds. One Standard.

A lot of people pick a dog because of the breed label—and then expect the dog to show up with a pre-installed set of traits, drives, and behaviors. In a perfect world, breeding would guarantee all that. But reality? Not every dog is built exactly like the brochure says. And with rescues or accidental litters, you’re basically working with a genetic mystery box. That’s why we train the dog in front of us—not the dog someone hoped it would be. In this video, you’ll see two different breeds, in the same program, responding in two different ways. Both are learning. Both are progressing. One just picks things up faster. That’s normal. Strong breeding usually means smoother learning; mixed or backyard-bred dogs can still crush it—but that’s the exception, not the norm. With the right training program, every dog can learn. They just won’t all learn at the same pace or with the same method. Our job is to bring out the best in the dog you actually have. We do that every day at Fowler K9 Academy, a veteran-owned training program serving the Treasure Valley (Middleton, ID). Whether you’re needing group classes, one-on-one sessions, or full board & train—we’ve got a program that meets your dog where they’re at and takes them where you need them to be. Ready to start real training based on real experience? Send us a message or visit our page to book your spot. Let’s build the dog you can trust.
