Understanding The System Behind Geometry Nodes

Blender (valid for all Blender 4.x) When geometry nodes were introduced, this was a game-changer. They’ve changed over time, but have only gotten more robust and easier to use. With my extension OpenVAT, I’ve released features allowing for capture of animation through the depsgraph via vertex attributes as VAT for game-engine playback via GPU. This video was initially created to provide some foundational understanding to users capturing custom VATs. But whether you are a power user looking to use GN within your scripts or a beginner starting to learn how GN work, this video will give you the foundational understanding that most tutorials skip. This is the core of my own mental model of the current system, explained the best I can.
