Before one gets any further and even touches electronics, after initial cleaning, what needs to be done is getting the mechanical part of the player going well. This is done by replacing of all the belts and cleaning of the running gear: pulleys, gears, levers and most importantly - micro switches. Then comes lubrication and you have to use the right grease/oil. What we had here is that after cleaning and lubrication of the tray rails and cleaning clamp worm gears, I proceeded to put a couple of drops of oil onto shafts of pulleys that run the steel line driving the tray. And this was the final step in getting the tray to go fast and smooth. But it was still getting stuck on CD lifting mechanism which in this unit is a part of the tray. Few squirts of 3-in-1 grease and the mechanical part of service was completed.
