Chengdu China Travel vlog: Chengdu China Food to eat, Chengdu China Things to do, Chengdu China places to visit We went to Chengdu for a short spring vacation in March. We visited some of the landmarks in Chengdu, including the iconic hanging panda sculpture at IFS and the night scenery at Jiuyanqiao/ Anshun bridge. Sichuan food was one of the 4 major Chinese cuisines in China, so we also tried some authentic Sichuan food, such as Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken, pig trotter soup and rabbit meat. One of the highlights of Chengdu were Pandas. The Chengdu Panda Base was the largest panda zoo in the world. From Chengdu we also took day trips to Leshan, Emeishan and Dujiangyan. Leshan was famous for its Leshan Giant Buddha, built more than 1200 years ago. Mount Emei scenic area was a sacred mountain of cultural significance as it was the place where Buddhism was first established on Chinese territory. Dujiangyan was well-known for its 2000 year old irrigation project, giant panda sculpture and old town. During this period, it also had a beautiful street of cherry blossoms. For this trip, we flew with Sichuan Airlines, which operated direct flight between Singapore Changi Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.
