I completely walk you through how to set up a Lilygo Pager for encrypted off-grid messaging and location with Blackout Comms firmware. I also walk through setting up a T-deck and creating your own private mesh cluster - independent of cell networks, internet, and grid. These pagers are very good for local, fairly close range text communication with friends and family, these work when you're completely off-grid camping, hiking, etc, or even during a complete grid outage. They do not use phones or networks at all. All you need are a few SD cards and Lilygo devices (other options are available). Some of your options include: Lilygo T-Deck Plus, Rokland T-Deck Complete, Lilygo Pager, T-Beam Supreme, and more. You can find these at several websites, links are pasted below, but you can also just search. If you want to skip this setup and just want a complete up-and-running kit, check out the Blackout Comms website, where several options are available, with no setup required on your part.
