Today I show you which cores and cable combinations I have tried to measure. It was a simple setup and do not take the measurements to serious, but the tendency of the measurements should be still correct. Some additional hints, because I was getting some feedback 1) The measurement was in db and not dbi(sotropic). dbi does not make sense... 2) The 8,5 windings do not exist in the literature. OK! But from my experiments if i just not turn a full winding and let the cable go out in the middle of the torroid the result was sometimes is my "half" winding. 3) My setup will not be shown and is not completely clear what I have measured: I have just tried to measure the impedance with a network analyzer (small Nano VNA) with a full sweep of the frequencies of the shortwave ham bands. Nothing special - just turned the cable around the torroids. 4) Do not think you will get exactly 100% the same results - reproducable! FOR ME was ONLY the practical MESSAGE IMPORTANT: DO NOT TRY TO WIND SO MANY TURNS AROUND YOUR CORE - THERE will come the POINT WHERE IT WILL NO MORE BE A VERY BROADBAND CHOKE!
