Almost 200mm of penetration at BR 3.3? The Hummel brings a 150mm howitzer and a questionable sense of balance to War Thunder. Today I’m taking this German tank destroyer into battle to put its ridiculous firepower to the test. Its TS APHE sabot round delivers up to 193mm of penetration at close range, which feels like a fairly aggressive response to low-tier armor. Unfortunately, the Hummel spent its entire budget on the gun. With thin armor, an open roof, and a long reload, I still have to survive long enough to make that penetration count. Missing a shot suddenly becomes everyone else’s favorite part of my strategy. Does the Hummel’s firepower belong at 3.3, or do its weaknesses keep it balanced? Let me know in the comments.
