I have gone into the Fram filters in the past, but now I dig a little deeper why the Fram Tough Guard is more expensive then Fram Extra Guard. Off the Fram website I see that the Fram Extra Guard filtration is blend of fiber and resin with a filtration of 95% The tough guard fitration is of synthetic blend for 99% effiency
