Hi Friends, my name is Callum aka wanderloots. In today's video, I walk through NotebookLM's NEW Feature: Deep Research (bye Discover Sources ✌️). This new feature enhances NotebookLM as a research tool, helping you save time & energy learning complex topics while preparing useful resources 📝💡 NotebookLM just got a major update to its research capabilities. The previous "Discover Sources" is now considered "Fast Research", making room for the new Deep Research Feature. NotebookLM is the perfect tool for students (learning), educators (teaching), and knowledge workers (productivity). In this video, I do a direct comparison between the old Discover Sources (Fast Search) and the new Deep Research so you can see exactly how good the new feature really is. Deep Research autonomously searches hundreds of websites, learning from its initial results to do deeper, more intelligent searching before synthesizing and creating a research report - complete with citations and links. The best part? You can IMPORT all of the discovered sources in the Deep Research Report (along with the report itself) into your Notebook, creating a knowledge base for your results. The ability to import the sources directly is a game-changer compared to the deep research feature in other platforms, where you have to manually go and find all of the sources in their reports. ChatGPT, Perplexity, and even Gemini all stop with the report. With NotebookLM, the report is just the beginning. New ideas, surfacing insights, making connections, distilling complex information, there is no end to how AI can boost the notes you're already taking✨ The updated NotebookLM takes this to the next level, helping you create more engaging resources for yourself and others.
