Makita battery "compatible" glue gun

It's important to note that this glue gun cannot sense a low battery and will potentially overdischarge real Makita batteries. The Makita batteries that I saw images of were shockingly crude inside. Commenters have indicated that they were either older batteries or clones as the modern ones do have individual cell sensing. I'll try and get hold of an older one to check. The clone batteries have charge control protection on every cell group. That means the glue gun, which is very simple inside, is best used with the matching clone batteries. Strictly unofficial - but if a battery is overdischarged and locks out on the proprietary charger, it MAY be recoverable if you open it up - check that the cells are still showing the correct polarity, and if they aren't too low, bring them gently back up to around 3V, where most BMS systems will recognise them again. When a cell has been very overdischarged it can degrade the internal chemistry, so the battery may not be suited to very high current loads afterwards.
