Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 It brings up the Start menu, pressing it again doesn't do anything. Windows 98 to Windows 7 It brings up the Start menu, pressing it again gets rid of the Start menu. Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Pressing the Windows key while on the desktop or in a Metro app takes you to the Start screen. Pressing the Windows key while on the Start screen takes you back to the last app you were on. If you close the last app you were on, it takes you to the other app that's open. If there are no apps open, pressing the Windows Key does nothing. Pressing the Windows key while on the Apps screen takes you to the Start screen. Windows 10 and Windows 11 It brings up the Start menu, pressing it again gets rid of the Start menu. Mac It does nothing. Fedora 35 (Vanilla GNOME 41) It brings up Activities view. Ubuntu (Slightly modified GNOME 40) It brings up Activities view. Pop!_OS (Moderately modified GNOME 40) By default it brings up Launcher. But it can also be configured to bring up Workspaces.
