Ever since I animated using IK manipulators in 3D I wanted to use the same method for animating in 2D. For all the promise that Animate CC held a true IK toolset has been really slow to appear. TO be sure, Layer parenting is a solid, sure fire way to set up characters for animation and the newest layer of the IK toolset is quite nice- but very late. This is not the only IK game in town, either. ToonBoom and MOHO (Anime Studio) have mature, robust toolsets for IK rigging and animation, but those toolsets are also the hardest to learn and very time consuming to setup. If you've ever set up a 3D character for rigging you literally know that it is just as involved or harder to set up a 2D character as a 3D one! That's pretty crazy.
