Mission Sub-1 XR vs. Ravin R500: Two Restrings, Two Very Different Methods

If your Mission Sub-1 XR or Ravin R500 crossbow needs new cams, strings, or cables, this step-by-step shop walk-through shows exactly how I do it—including the Mission “backout system” (no press required) and the Ravin press process (with finger blocks) for the R500. We diagnose a catastrophic cam failure on the Sub-1 XR, replace cams, install cables and string on the correct tracks, re-tension limb bolts evenly, and then re-string a Ravin R500—routing cables through the bridge guides, setting the S-curve string path, and test-firing safely. Here is a link to the Ravin store so you can check out and order new strings or the press we used here. Unfortunately to purchase any Mission gear you will have to visit a Mathews/Mission dealer. note: If you click on this link and make a purchase we may receive a small commision. This helps us out and we really appreciate that.
