Day 24 and in the finale for 2024 a personal project comes to life! I recently received a ZX Spectrum (Issue Two) and I wanted to use it for some fun projects, but I had two issues. 1. It uses RF output, and my office monitor doesn't use that. 2. The power supply is very old, so I need a safer alternative. Issue 1 was easy to solve. I followed Noel's Retro Lab video and installed a 100uf capacitor in the RF modulator area. Now I have composite video output from the RF jack. Issue 2 required me to use a safe power supply, and I didn't have one, so I made one using a Temu USB C multi-voltage adapter. I set it to 9V, ensured the polarity was correct, and it just worked. Now I have a safe ZX Spectrum to play around with. The image is a little dark, but I can tweak that. This video marks the end of Maker Advent 2024 and I would like to thank-you all for watching. There were some highs, lows, failures and comedy. While it can be stressful to make the videos, I do enjoy making them. Happy Holidays and see you in the new year! Music: Far Apart - Causmic.
