In this introductory talk, SPRITE+ Co-Director Prof. Emma Barrett will outline the potential risks and harms associated with immersive technologies such as virtual reality, mixed reality, and augmented reality. The talk is aimed at people who have limited familiarity with these new technologies and their applications. Prof Barrett will draw on the results of a recent scoping review of relevant research to highlight the range and nature of TIPSS risks and harms, and potential ways of mitigating harm.
