Your ethernet switch doesn’t come with any ethernet cables, so you want to have some on hand when setting up your switch. You’ll need one cable to connect your ethernet switch and router together (assuming you want to provide your devices with an ethernet connection to the internet), and an additional cable for each device you want to connect to your switch. From there, the process is pretty simple. You need to: •Connect your ethernet switch to your router with an ethernet cable. You can use any ethernet port on your switch if it doesn’t have a dedicated “Uplink” port •Use an ethernet cable to connect any additional devices to the open ports on your ethernet switch •Connect the power cord to the back of your switch, and then to an outlet. Most switches don’t have a power switch, so it’ll power on when you connect the power cable That’s all there is to it! Once the switch is powered on, each ethernet port that’s connected to a device should have a status light that lights up to indicate a proper connection to a device.
