The plaintiff says he and the defendant, his ex, entered a sweepstakes and won the grand prize: an all-expenses-paid trip to an NFL game in Hawaii, several iPhones and gift bags. He says he offered to let the defendant take the trip with her new boyfriend if he could keep the other prizes, but she decided to keep everything. He’s suing for the value of his share of the winnings. The defendant says the plaintiff was already her ex when he illegally accessed her cellphone account and entered her into the contest. She claims that after she won, he immediately demanded a share of the prizes and filed this lawsuit when he learned she would not take him on the trip.
