#eastidahonews #secretsanta #Christmas A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until the end of the year, the East Idaho News elves will be delivering gifts from Secret Santa and we’ll be sharing the surprise videos here. The Peterson family spent the past few years chasing a dream — buying a small farm, planning a home, and building it themselves to save money. They poured their energy into the project, working nights and weekends to raise the structure and create a future for their family. But last year, high winds caused havoc to the partially built home. Just as trusses were finally installed and the next phase of construction was ready to begin, severe winds hit the frame at just the wrong angle, collapsing the structure and leaving most of the materials unusable. Neighbors helped the Petersons clear the debris, but insurance has not covered the losses, leaving the family to shoulder the cost of rebuilding entirely on their own. They have since sold equipment and personal belongings to stay afloat and keep their project moving forward. Those who know the Petersons describe them as humble, giving, and unfailingly kind — the type of family who quietly helps others and never speaks ill of anyone. A Secret Santa learned of their struggles and asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise them with a gift to help them get back on their feet.
