I'm going to apologize in advance for the audio in this video. I was too lazy to move my good mic to my test bench, so the first part of this video sounds a bit like trash. Also, I'm aware the intro is way too loud... bad editing on my part. In this video, I go over how to configure a Unifi Access Point for the first time. This is an update to my previous video with the same title. For the most part, the steps have remained the same. However, there have been some interface changes and additions which were not covered in the previous video. I also go into a lot more of a "Controller Overview" than I did in my previous video, so hopefully, you have a bit more information to work with. As a video is very long. I also cover how to set up your access point using the Unifi mobile app. This is a great alternative if you need to get connectivity quickly and don't necessarily have the need for a full-blown controller. For your convenience, I've listed timestamps below for you to quickly get to the section you may be having issues with. As always, leave any comments or suggestions for other videos in the comments and I will get to them when (and if) I'm able. 00:00 - Intro 00:45 - Unboxing 02:15 - Mounting Plate Removal/Installation 03:48 - Ethernet Ports, USB, and Reset button 05:50 - PoE Injector connection 06:45 - Boot sequence (LED explanation) 08:48 - Connecting without PoE Injector 09:20 - Unifi Controller Overview 10:57 - Configuration using Mobile App 16:38 - Mobile App settings walkthrough 20:25 - Configuration using Unifi Controller Software (Desktop/Server Application) 20:37 - Explaining some common questions / issues / features 22:55 - Downloading and Installing the Controller Software 25:26 - Initial controller configuration 30:00 - Adopting AP to the controller 33:05 - Device menu walkthrough 37:52 - Changing between old and new user interface 40:08 - Global Settings Configuration 42:27 - Editing Wireless Network Settings 44:08 - Adding a second wireless network 48:02 - Controller menu Overviews 15:55 - Outro Mistakes / Corrections: 01:38 - I mention that a PoE injector comes with every AP unless it's ordered in a 5-pack. This was true for the UAP-AC line of products but is no longer true for the Unifi6 line. None of the newer APs come with a power injector (with the exception of Unifi6 Mesh) and must be ordered separately. (Thank you, @pedrobrigham5999)
