Arthur Morgan is quite simply one of the best characters I have ever come across in a video game... and really, in any fictional story. The internal journey that he experiences as the Van Der Linde gang robs and kills their way across the country is simply incredible. He stands out among examples of virtuous, heroic masculinity that we have examined here on this channel because he was dealt a truly unfair hand in life, but, against all odds, he managed to rise above it all, to fight against despair, to see the good in the world and even in himself, and to believe that love exists.
