The NHS has released its latest performance figures - warning of a "worst-case scenario" this month. It comes as a dangerous strain of flu is driving infections across the country. Flu hospitalisations have surged more than half in just one week, new figures reveal. An average of 2,660 patients were in hospital per day with flu last week.
