Originally released in August,1998, the first Blade movie was written by David S Goyer and directed by Steve Norrington starring Wesley Snipes in his iconic role as the titular Blade the Vampire Hunter. However, as beloved as Wesley Snipes’ Blade would become, Snipes was not the first actor considered for the role. In fact, at one point, New Line Cinemas wanted to completely race swap Blade completely and make the character a white man…but thankfully David Goyer immediately shot that terrible ass idea down.
