I Spent 30 Days With Bears In Remote Alaska. It Didnt Go As Planned

You can support my work here: Wildlife filmmaker and BBC cameraman Jake Davis travels to remote coastal Alaska with the goal of filming bears fishing for salmon and the arrival of new spring bear cubs. But the salmon run fails—and the story changes. Over the course of a month, Jake documents a true portrait of bear life on Alaska’s coast, focusing on their social life. From intimate moments between a mother and her cubs to rare, playful sparring between adult males, the film reveals interactions not often seen. To explore what happens beyond the open meadows, Jake sets up high-end camera traps deep in the forest. These cameras captured rarely seen footage of bears using rub trees to mark their scent and communicate with other bears.
