A bad furnace inducer motor can result in a loud, buzzing or whining noise and loss of heat. Sometimes the bad inducer motor becomes very hot to the touch - another indication the motor is defective. This Heil/International Comfort Products (ICP) model N9MDP was a pretty easy DIY fix, that only took about 20 minutes, with common tools. By installing ourselves, we saved hundreds of dollars on dealer part pricing, and a service call from an HVAC company. Since the install, the furnace has been running properly.
