In this video, we will share an effective trick on how to stabilize the actor's neck geometry across dozens of FACS expressions very quickly. Actors usually change their body position during photogrammetry scanning. This leads to a different neck shape in every scan. In order to use these FACS for rigging or 4D processing, we need to stabilize the neck in a constant position. We will share a tip we often use in our FACS processing pipeline. Using a combination of the FastWrapping, MixGeom, and GenerateVertexMask nodes, we can smoothly deform the neck in every FACS to match a predefined position. This method lets us preserve the neck volume and can be applied to dozens of FACS expressions automatically.
