From Rusted Junk to POWERHOUSE: Full Restoration of a Makita 9401 Belt Sander

In this restoration video, I bring a Japan-made Makita 9401 plug-in belt sander back to life! This machine was completely covered in rust, with corrosion everywhere—inside and out. After disassembly, I found severe rust on the motor rotor and stator, most screws seized, a corroded switch, and even the springs were rusted through. I completely stripped it down, sandblasted the rusted rotor and stator (with careful masking of the copper windings), sandblasted and repainted the aluminum housing, replaced the motor bearings, and reassembled everything. Now it runs perfectly—smooth, powerful, and ready for work again! If you enjoy watching old tools being restored, make sure to like, subscribe, and hit the bell for more rebuilds like this. Let me know in the comments what you think or what I should restore next! A special thanks to CRC for supporting this restoration!
