How to draft a bodice block (or sloper) from your own measurements. Detailed step by step tutorial.

Draft a fitted bodice block from your own measurements. New version - with even more detail! ** If you have a very big bust in relation to your frame, you might have to adjust your dart measurement a little when fitting your sample, see my separate video for drafting for a fuller bust for more detail** I work in cm, but this method works just as well in inches. The trickiest part with a full bust on a small frame is getting the front dart and shoulder slope correct. If you're struggling to draw it up, please message me your measurements if you would like some help. The first thing to double check is your body measurements. Make sure your shoulder measurement is long enough, if it's too short it will be tricky. Every woman's body has it's own proportions, but here are a few examples using body measurements with "standard" proportions: Bust: 96cm, shoulder: , dart width: , front / back neck-waist difference: Bust: 110cm, shoulder: , dart width: 10cm, front / back neck-waist difference: 2cm Bust: 122cm, shoulder: , dart width: , front / back neck-waist difference: 3cm The standard dart width sizes in the video are as follows, find the nearest to your bust size, if you're in between sizes, adjust the dart accordingly. e.g. if your bust is 86cm, use a width half way between (84cm bust) and 7cm (88cm bust), your dart will be : 80cm - 84cm - 88cm - 7cm 92cm - 96cm - 100cm - 104cm - 110cm - 10cm 116cm - 122cm - 128cm - 134cm - 140cm - 13cm 146cm - 152cm - Go to to download your measurements sheet.
