This is the first part in a series of videos on my build of a storage server to replace my QNAP TS-239Pro II that has served me for nearly 10 years. I felt it was time to retire the QNAP and decided to go with FreeNAS. In this video I install an LSI SAS 9200-8i HBA in IT Mode, 3TB Hitachi SAS Near Line drives, and associated cables. I also add a 120GB SSD in a DVD-style caddy for an OS disk. In case you need: Controller: Cables: (these are 2.5 feet which is long enough) Disks: SSD: SSD / DVD Caddy: iDRAC:
