PEPE rocket engine: subscale breadboard proof-of-concept tests.

The "director's cut" of the PEPE bi-propellant rocket engine proof-of-concept tests. PEPE = PEroxide Propulsion Element. - Simple design + storable "green" propellants: user friendly, affordable, enhanced safety. - Oxidizer: Stabilized hydrogen peroxide, 85-90% - Fuel: HYPPO = HYPergolicPOlar fuel (a proprietary composition) - variable injector area: full throttle ability! - 170N design thrust The private space activities are rapidly growing. A propulsion system is one of the most critical parts of a space vehicle. The purpose of the in-development PEPE engines family is to satisfy the demand for low cost, user-friendly, reliable and versatile propulsion systems. Hence, from the very beginning of the design phase the focus has been on the low cost and reliability secured through maximizing the design simplicity and user-friendliness. The PEPE engines are fully throttle-able and run (or at least ignite) on a hypergolic, storable, green and dense propellant combination. The injector's wetted area is variable and completely seal-able which allows for deep throttling without O/F mixture ratio shift and/or combustion instability issues.
