I did a video about two years ago and I talk to how to test and format SAS drives and the needed cable set you needed to make it work. Today 2023 there is a newer and better cable set that will connect up to four SAS drives at once and uses a SAS connector to a (yes you need one of these as well...) to your HBA or RAID controller. It is much nicer then using the old SATA/SAS bridge cable or the edge connector that I once again refer to in this video as well. So no need to look up the old video for I cover both in this one...
