Gidi Navon, Senior Principal Architect, Marvell Taras Chornyi, Director of Open Networking Solutions and Strategy, PLVision SONiC and Open HW platforms have been widely adopted primarily in data centers, and is now gaining traction in diverse edge applications, campus environments and in smaller verticals deployments that historically were reluctant to embrace such solutions. This change is enabled by 4 factors: Standardization done by the OpenLAN Switching community allowing open Cloud management and ZTP over the public internet ; Introduction of open-source SONiC based solution ; New Multi-gig PoE platforms based on optimized Switch silicon with embedded Host CPUs; Pure play Cloud management solutions that can manage multi-vendor solutions via a unified management solutions and serve customers together with System integrators that take a more active role. In this talk we will describe and demonstrate an OpenLAN Switching solution running an open-source SONiC based solution on new optimized Switch silicon from Marvell semiconductor controlled and managed by a cloud managed platform.
