3I/Atlas: Did IT DO IT ??? NASA’s MAVEN spacecraft, which has been orbiting Mars for more than ten years, has unexpectedly gone silent after returning from behind the planet. The spacecraft had recently recorded data and images of 3I/ATLAS during its close pass near Mars MAVEN was expected to resume normal communication after passing behind Mars, but no signal was received when it came back into range. NASA engineers are now working to restore contact and determine what caused the sudden loss of communication. The timing of the outage has drawn attention, coming shortly after MAVEN completed valuable observations of 3I/ATLAS.
