Hello YouTube, Matt here. In today's video, I will be talking about acquiring forensic images with free forensics tools. Today's free tool will be @MagnetForensics1 's Magnet Acquire software. It is a very basic software that detects your devices through Windows. Here are the steps to get your computer to be able to detect an android device: Find the Android platform tools and install them. Plug in your device. You should have ADB. Make sure that you have the commands by typing in adb devices. Open Magnet Acquire. When it detects your device, click your device and press next (usually for a quick image. (If you have root, there will be the option for a full acquisition.) Go through the rest of the steps of the program. Congratulations, you have a device image when the Acquire program finishes and you can now analyze it.
