How I Installed My PoE Camera: Cable Run, Drilling, Terminations, Mounting

In this video, I walk through my end-to-end installation of a PoE (Power Over Ethernet) security camera, covering everything from running Cat6 cable to mounting on vinyl siding. I’ll show you each step, including drilling between floors, fishing cable across my basement ceiling, and running cable through walls. You’ll also see how I terminate Cat6 cable with both RJ45 and keystone connectors for a clean, secure setup. I use a weather-resistant camera junction box on a siding-specific mount, offering flexibility and protection from the elements. I'm no expert, but I think this install turned out great! I hope sharing my experience helps you tackle your own setup. *Here are links for the products and tools used in this video.
