Ceph Notification at Scale: Notification V2, an Enterprise-Level Feature - Krunal Chheda, Bloomberg Data powers Bloomberg’s financial products. Ceph clusters are the backbone of Bloomberg’s internal S3 cloud storage systems, which host this data and serve billions of requests a day. Given the importance of these cloud storage systems to the company’s broader infrastructure, it is crucial that any S3 feature we enable must be an enterprise-level feature that scales, provides telemetry, is secure, and has fault-tolerant capabilities. Working together with the community, Bloomberg has enhanced the existing notification feature built into Ceph enabling it to be used by Bloomberg and other enterprise users of Ceph. This talk will discuss all the work that went into building “notification_v2,” the new enterprise-class S3 notifications platform and all of its new features.
