This is the first video in a new server build series covering the Dell PowerEdge R410. In this first part, I introduce you to this dual socket 1U server. First, I show how to install the iDRAC6 express and iDRAC6 enterprise modules. Next, I make some server chassis adjustments to the fans to make sure they fit just right. Following the physical setup, I updated the BIOS and firmwares of the various components of this server. This turned out to be a much more laborious effort than I had expected. There were several mistakes and lessons learned along the way that I will share with you. Finally, we reset the NVRAM and get this system ready for a new project!
