I needed a new server for at home and during LAN parties which needed to be 2U in size. To try and build it a bit on a budget I built a DIY 2U server based on an AMD Ryzen processor inside an Inter-tech IPC 2U-20255 server chassis. It turned out great so if you're interested watch along on a timelapse while I build it. In a second video I will highlight some hardware details a bit more such as how to quiet down the server a bit for home usage! ░▒▓[Shopping links]▓▒░ 1X Molex to 5x SATA version 1: 1X Molex to 5x SATA version 2: 1x SATA to 5x SATA: 4x SATA cables: 5x Nylon sleeved SATA cables: Intel i350 2x Gigabit (PCIe x1): Intel SFP+ 10Gbit card: SFP+ DAC Cable: ░▒▓[Server Hardware]▓▒░ Case: Inter-Tech IPC 2U-20255 ( ) Case Power Supply: Inter-Tech FSP500-702UH Motherboard: Asus X370-Pro CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700x CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 Memory: Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) 2666 CL16 Disks: 4x12TB Seagate IronWolf + 2x 2TB SSDs: 2x 1TB Samsung 860 EVO, 1x 512GB Samsung 960 Pro Network: 1x1Gbit Intel + 2x1Gbit Intel + 2x10Gbit SFP+ Videocards: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 OC Low Profile 2G + ASUS R5230-SL-1GD3-L Radeon R5 230 1GB GDDR3 ░▒▓[Mentioned in the video]▓▒░ All Home Networking videos: LANparty The-Party: LANparty CampZone: ░▒▓[Associated blog post]▓▒░ Hardware info and ZFS configuration how-to: Proxmox GPU Passthrough how-to: Silencing the 2U AMD Ryzen server: ░▒▓[Music]▓▒░ Intro&Outro TheFatRat - Xenogenesis ( ) During video Viilo - Rift ( ) Viilo - Starry Night ( ) ( )
