Creating Animation Thumbnails / Solve the problem before you draw / Russ Edmonds

This Chalk Talk shows my approach to thumbnailing an animated scene. I explain how I use thumbnails as a jumping-off point for every character scene, creating notes and sketches to use later. I use the thumbnails to push the pose and solve potential drawing problems. Thumbnails are an essential part of animating any scene. Learn from a traditional Disney Animator how to observe, understand, sketch, and animate. Understand animal anatomy and then take an in-depth look at Russ’ animation process. ____________________ Subscribe to my channel for more animation and art videos: YOUTUBE: @RussEdmondsAnimation For more in-depth chalk talks, tutorials, and live webinars, please join me and my art community on PATREON:) PATREON: If you would like to see my artwork, visit: INSTAGRAM: I animate with the animation app RoughAnimator: I use Adobe Photoshop for storyboarding, drawing, and painting: I use Wacom Cintiqs for digital drawing: ____________________ Producer: Angela Edmonds Filmed at my ranch and studio.
