Ever wanted to know what happened if Mega Man was Doctor Light's dead grandson and also Clippy with a gun for a hand? ...When you put it like that, it sounds incredibly messed up, but that's Battle Network for you! (Wait until you get to Houdini of the Beach...) Following in the footsteps of Pokémon, Capcom decided to cancel its horror-themed Mega Man spinoff and instead create a child-accessible JRPG that was easy to play, hard to master, and even harder to complete. This led to six GBA games, five spinoffs, six seasons of anime, a sequel anime series, an insane amount of manga, and lotsa moych. But in order to make this world its own thing, heroes and villains from the Classic era had to be redesigned to fit this new digital world. Thus, the Robot Master became the NetNavi. And thus, they started looking VERY different. As more people started getting into this classic-but-not-literally-Classic series again, what with the Legacy Collection releasing last year, I decided to well did the artists reimagine the perfection that is Guts Man? Does look cooler? Is culturally insensitive? Was a good idea? And WHAT ABOUT SHARK MAN??? These questions and more MIGHT be answered as I compare each and every Robot Master to be redesigned as a NetNavi, and which one I like more! Three things to note before I leave you be! **One,** Bumbles McFumbles already knows I'm doing this, and his only demand was that I rip a new one. (I make no promises.) **Two,** special thanks to Alan Peterson for tech support when rendering had issues over a dozen times, and 'll see. **Three,** I actually ended up having to make a lot of the transparent PNGs you see for the NetNavis myself, scrubbing away or restoring pixels that AI background removers missed.
