This time, I'm restoring a vintage Rolex GMT-Master from 1967. The watch was sent to me by Dimitris, a viewer from Greece. He inherited it from his father in 1972. In 1987 he went swimming with it, forgetting to screw down the crown — saltwater entered and flooded the movement. A local watchmaker told him nothing could be saved and offered to sell him another watch instead. Heartbroken, Dimitris placed the watch in a drawer, where it remained untouched for the next 38 years, until he decided to send it to me.
